In order to support the 2009 Nautel Laser World Championships, our club needed to upgrade our waterfront to meet the event requirements. With the support of SMSC members, your executive worked hard to realize these requirements and provide an infrastructure legacy for the club.

This drawing outlines the final product which included:

1. improvements to main wharf including power and water
2. improvements to driveways and new parking near the shoreline
3. a new concrete boat launch
4. a new 10’ x 50’ marina pier
5. a new 14’ x 180’ Breakwater/Wharf
6. a new 20 slip marina with water and power (also includes lots of space for tenders)

Items shown as dashed lines in the drawing were not built in 2009 (including the floating breakwater).

Slips and Moorings Available

These marina slips and moorings are now available for lease to members. Contact our commodore Wayne Trowse if you are interested in a marina slip or Rick Hattin if you are interested in a mooring.

The slips have water & power supplied to localized pedestals, accompanied by lighting. Availability is restricted to members only, and they are going fast. There are only a limited number of slips left that can accommodate larger keel boats, so act quickly if you are in this category.

Pricing

There is a retention fee of $2500 which is a one-time refundable fee to help cover the capital costs (refunds for those who surrender a slip will be available Jan 2011).

• 30 ft slip yearly rental: $1500+HST
• 35 ft slip yearly rental: $1750+HST
