Because of Hurricane Bill, which is expected to deliver tropical storm force winds on shore, Laser Worlds racing was suspended for Sunday. After the competitors came off the water on Saturday, all 185 boats (plus a few others that were on site) were disassembled and stored inside the race management and main clubhouse buildings, and the Commodore's basement! Dollies and other loose items on the property were made secure. Special thanks to all the racers who were full partners in this process and of course all of our tireless volunteers who are making the Laser Worlds event possible despite this challenge that Mother Nature threw at us. ![]() Competitors and volunteers are expected to be on site at 7am on Monday to restore the boats (and everything else!) to working condition so racing can resume. For more Laser Worlds news see the main world's site. Follow the real-time wind and rain at the club using our new weather station. |
