Adult Dinghy Sailing Lessons in July and August PDF Print E-mail

SMSC is offering three new dinghy initiatives this summer:

  • Adult Learn to Sail
  • Teen Sail
  • Dinghy Nights

Adult Learn to Sail:

This class is taught in 420s (the same dinghies used by our Junior Sail program) and will be taught by our CYA certified instructors. Classes will be held Monday and Tuesday evenings during the months of July and August. The summer will be split into four sessions consisting of two consecutive weeks each. The first two sessions (running in July) will be for women only while the two sessions in August will be open to all adults. Any amount (or lack) of experience is welcome along with members and non-members alike. Sessions are filling up and space is limited. Registration and more information can be found here or by contacting Paul Filbee-Dexter.

Teen Sail

This is an introductory level for students age 13-18 run alongside the junior sail program for students with little or no sailing experience who may have missed their chance to join the Basic program when they were younger. To anyone who has said "I wish my parents had signed me up for sailing lessons when I was 10 years old" this is the program for you. Teen Sail will be run in 420's and will only be offered in August. You can find more information here or by contacting Paul Filbee-Dexter.

Dinghy Nights

This is in response to inquiries about adults wanting a program for their own lasers. Anyone who’s interested should contact Judy Lugar at judy (at) lugar (dot) ca.

For anyone who hasn’t already done so, junior sail registration is open here.

I look forward to seeing you this summer,

Paul Filbee-Dexter
