Our sailing season is rapidly coming to a close and the Annual General Meeting will soon be upon us. At this time, the SMSC Nominations Committee, on behalf of your Executive Committee, is issuing an open call for nominations for next year’s slate of Directors. Please remember that we are a volunteer organization and that the more hands, the lighter the work. Furthermore, please do not think that you need to have veteran status to take an active part in planning and managing our day-to-day activities. We would love to have new members with fresh views at the decision-making table! Under our new by-laws, we elect Directors who are then appointed to various Executive posts rather than electing people directly to those posts. In practical terms, there will be more Vice-Commodore positions than has been the case in the past. Further details are available by going to By-Laws and Member Resolutions.
