St. Margaret Sailing Club in Glen Haven, Nova Scotia

August 29th to September 1st, 2011
September 28th to October 1st, 2011

Bedford, NS, Monday, July 04, 2011 – The Canadian Yachting Association is pleased to announce Bedford-based Trihedral as the title sponsor for this year’s National and Youth National Sailing Championships taking place this fall at the St. Margaret Sailing Club in Glen Haven, Nova Scotia.

A Local Company With a Global Business

Based in Bedford, Nova Scotia, Trihedral is a leading developer and integrator of world-class monitoring and control software. Its VTS/VTScada software is widely used in industries including marine, water/wastewater, broadcasting, power distribution, manufacturing and offshore oil & gas. With a customer base spanning six continents, the company has expanded to include offices in Orlando, Florida, Aberdeen, Scotland and Boston, Massachusetts.

“For our 25th anniversary, we wanted to do something special,” says Trihedral Vice-President Barry Baker. “An event like this allows us to make a difference on both a local and national level. We are very proud to be a part of these two events.”

A Long History of Marine Projects

The company has a strong connection to the nautical world. Over the last fifteen years, Trihedral has emerged as a major Canadian designer and integrator of ship-board monitoring and control systems.

Trihedral’s engineers have installed systems on ships of all sizes, from simple engine monitoring on 50-foot tugs to ship-wide systems managing numerous functions on 350-foot commercial shipping vessels.

There are a dozen ships in the Canadian Coast Guard fleet that rely upon Trihedral systems to monitor alarms, gauge tanks, air compressors (for icebreaker bubbler systems), power management and engine cylinder temperature.

On shore, the Coast Guard uses a VTS-based simulator at their Dartmouth facility to help train operators to diagnose shipboard alarm monitoring issues.

For the last five years, Trihedral has been named among 'Nova Scotia's Top Employers' by the editors of the best selling 'Canada's Top 100 Employers Guide'.
