New Social Membership Category at St. Margaret Sailing Club! You are aware of where we are and of at least some of what we do. We hope you like what you have seen. For whatever reason, your connection to St. Margaret Sailing Club has not yet convinced to you join as a member. We encourage you to see and enjoy even more. We hope that now is your time with the introduction of our Social Membership. This membership category, along with our growing activities, is likely to appeal to those of you not fully active in boating at SMSC. You might be new to our greater Bay community and want to become involved in the social aspects of SMSC membership. Take, for example, our new, and already hugely successful, steak or chicken Friday nights, offered at cost and communally prepared while you enjoy refreshments and pleasing conversation. Or, you may want to crew on members’ boats and get a bird's eye view of our beautiful Bay from water-side. You may want to start your adventure and sample your opportunities with this year's Set Sail Program running from June 20 to 23, 2013 (no membership needed for signing up). This program blends the basics of sailing theory with a weekend of practice on a member’s keelboat, in the company of an experienced skipper and instructor. Take a look: Online registration is now available on the SMSC website, on the Set Sail page under Training, for anyone who would like to participate. Complete the Set Sail program and apply your registration fee towards a social membership. SMSC membership is still a very good bargain when compared to other local clubs; now, the lower fee, and no bond requirement, makes this Social Membership an incredible deal. More details and applications can be found here. Of course, there is much, much, more. We encourage you to even have a broader look at what we do and the stories and pictures we have to prove it. If you have questions, please feel free to contact Ron Crocker, Vice-Commodore (Membership). |
