Resolution 2010-003: Membership Discount Categories |

Whereas the by-laws of SMSC provide for Individual and Family Membership classes as follows:
- Individual Membership - an individual person and
- Family Membership
(i) two individual persons who live together as partners and any dependent children under 25 or (ii) an individual person and any dependent children under 25
the following categories based on age, service, and/or personal situation qualify for discounts from the standard annual Membership Fees determined for the core classes of members:
- Family – A Family Membership where both of the partners are less than 60 years of age.
- Single – An Individual Membership when the individual is 25-59 years of age.
- Senior Family – A Family Membership where one of the partners is 60 years of age or older.
- Senior Single – An Individual Membership when the individual is 60 years of age or older.
- Intermediate – An Individual Membership when the individual is 19-24 years of age.
- Junior – An Individual Membership when the individual is less than 19 years of age.
- Member-at-Sea – A member who is resident outside of Nova Scotia for more than one year, who wishes to be maintained on the Registry of Members, and is not to make any use of SMSC facilities or programs other than electronic services (eg. Website) or mailed items (eg. Newsletter) during the period of absence.
- Honourary – A member without annual membership fees, as granted by the Board of Directors.
