May E-Letter for Members and Friends of Saint Margaret Sailing Club

SMSC Members & Friends:

Sailing season is soon upon us (in some cases already upon us)!

Our Spring Series inaugural race is Wed, June 3, Clam Island start, 18:00 hours. OD is Dave Lane.

But in the meantime... Please mark next Friday night and Saturday morning on your calendars.

Friday (May 22) there's a TGIF at the clubhouse, 19:30, hosted by the Laser Worlds organizing committee.

As well as meeting up with friends - and friendly rivals - you'll be among the first to find out where we are with the Laser Worlds (now
Nautel Laser Worlds), not least of which includes upgrades to our waterfront, precipitated by the Worlds. For example: there's a new 10'
x 50' concrete boat launch and a new 10' by 50' marina pier; the Jr. Sailing wharf has been removed and the beachfront has been cleared of
boulders.

Saturday (May 23), 9:00-noon, is spring cleanup at the club - there are lots of ways to get in on the ground level this year!

Following is a list provided by John Peckitt. Please bring your toolkit or whatever you need for where ever you'd like to help. If it's not obvious where to go when you get there, John Peckitt or Vicki LeBlanc will point you in the right direction. Remember, the old adage about many hands (or somesuch) - and hope to see you there!
