When is the clubhouse open?
Our clubhouse has varying operational hours throughout the calendar year. You can contact operations@smsc.ca for current information. When regular hours are available they will be posted onsite and online.

Who manages the clubhouse?
We are a non-profit society, volunteer-run sailing club. We are currently operating as a volunteer team, however we do have summer attendants that supports the club operations. If you need something at the club and there is no one present, or want to help out by volunteering, we ask that you email our Operations Team at operations@smsc.ca.
I’m new, can someone show me around?
Absolutely! Please contact our Operations Team and we’ll link you up with someone for a tour and answer any questions you have.
How do I stay up to date with what is happening at SMSC?
We send out a weekly Rhumbline newsletter, but you can also find event information in our Events Calendar. If you are a member at SMSC you may also wish to be added to our Member’s Facebook Group for more community connection. You can contact operations@smsc.ca to be added.
Can I bring my family/friend to events at the clubhouse?
Each of our members are able to bring up to 4 guests during regular club events. There are times when you may be able to bring more guests, and other times that guests are restricted as well. If you’re unsure, please ask by emailing operations@smsc.ca. Guests must be signed in at the clubhouse register by the hosting member.
Where can I enjoy an alcoholic beverage at SMSC?
Only alcohol purchased at the club bar may be consumed in the clubhouse, on the side and rear verandahs, or on the marked deck area during special events.
Personally purchased alcohol cannot be consumed on the docks, nor other areas of the club property.
SMSC supports the responsible service and consumption of alcoholic beverages in compliance with the regulations of the Nova Scotia Alcohol and Gaming Authority.
How can I pay for beverages in the clubhouse?
We do not accept cash at the clubhouse. We only accept electronic forms of payment at our point-of-sale including debit/credit cards..
Can my children hangout in the clubhouse without me?
No, our liquor license requires that all children under the age of 19 must be accompanied by their parent or guardian when in the clubhouse.
Where can I park?
Parking is available in the lot in front of the clubhouse/sailing centre for members and their guests. Vehicles may also be parked on the grass. Parking is also available on the public road.
A second parking lot is located at the waterfront for use by full members only.
Please do not block the driveways, boat launch, or boat storage areas. If leaving your vehicle for an extended period, please ensure it is parked out of the way of regular use areas. If you need guidance for location, please ask our Operations Team prior to leaving.
Please note that hybrid and electric vehicles may not be charged using SMSC's electrical outlets.
Can I bring my pet to the club?
You are welcome to bring your pet to the club grounds. Only licensed service dogs are permitted inside the clubhouse and sailing centre. Please ensure you clean up after your pets.
