On The Hard Dart League
Complete beginners and their non-member guests are heartedly invited to join returning players every Wednesday night between 7 & 10 pm from now until launch. Don't worry, there's no need to commit. Just come out and give it try! To make it easy for you, we have house-darts to share. Even if you're not up to playing, spectators are very welcome to attend. And as always, the bar will be open.
Halloween Kitchen Party
As the moon rises over the harbour and the waves whisper their ghostly tunes, the clubhouse will fill with giggles, music, and Halloween magic! Little witches, friendly ghosts, and brave pirates are all welcome to join the fun.
The kitchen bar will be glowing with treats (and a few tricks!), while the sound of music and laughter fill the air. Sing along with karaoke, dance, or show off your costumes as we celebrate the spooky season the Nova Scotia way — with music, joy, and a whole lot of heart.
Bring your costume, your voice, or your best monster dance moves — it’s going to be a boo-tiful night of family fun!
On The Hard Dart League
Sharpen your darts, or choose your favourites from the club’s selection, and join the friendly competition and light-hearted conversation! Enjoy a variety of games, including classic 501 and fun options like Cricket and Killer. Members and their guests of all skill levels are welcome – from seasoned pros to first-time players. And as always, the bar will be open.
Women's Book Club
Ladies, please join our monthly Women’s Book Club at SMSC, hosted by various book loving Members. Books will generally be about politics, relationships and women's issues. Literary enthusiasts will explore novels chosen by group members that are accessible and entertaining. Our Women’s Book Club meets the first Thursday of each month at 7:00pm. The bar will be open and snacks will be provided. Contact operations@smsc.ca to be added to the reading list and join in on the fun!
Annual General Meeting
Our Annual General Meeting will be held November 6th, starting at 6:00pm. The AGM is more than tradition… it’s the moment we gather to hear the final report of 2025, elect our next Board of Directors, and, we hope, welcome a new Commodore to the helm.
This is your opportunity to reflect on the year behind us and help shape the leadership for the year ahead.
A detailed agenda will be shared closer to the date. A formal AGM notice will arrive in your inbox this Tuesday.

Nova Scotia Kitchen Party
As the sun dips below the sails bobbing in the harbour, the clubhouse will come alive with the kind of warmth you can’t bottle. The kitchen bar glowing as Werner Hofstätter, our volunteer bartender, serves up a glass of whiskey. Someone begins plucking a ukulele, the nearby fiddle finds its voice, and the guitar player chimes in with a grin. Before you know it, the clubhouse is swaying with voices filled with good ol’ east coast merriment.
Join us for a tied-and-true Nova Scotia Kitchen Party! Bring your instruments, your singing voice, or enjoy the music from the sidelines. It’s sure to be a foot-stomping Nova Scotian night!

Members’ Summit
Let it be known across the waters and along the shore that upon the twenty-fourth day of September, in the year of our Lord two thousand and twenty-five, the final Member’s Summit of the season shall be convened.
This gathering, though shortened in its span, shall bring forth a brief account of the state of the Realm, followed by a great Town-Hall wherein voices may be raised and matters of import discussed.
The Royal Bar shall be open, and victuals in the form of gratis snacks shall be laid before those in attendance. This convocation is reserved for members of the Realm alone (in common tongue, this event is strictly for members only).
Make haste to mark thy calendars, for this be the final such council before the season’s close!
